Culture Vulture Disc Jockey’s are also known under the following monikers: ‘CV DJs’, ‘CV V/DJs’. The latter refers to our occasional usage of haphazardly assembled homemade visuals to accompany the music we play for the event in question.
CV DJs formed in 2006 and debuted in Clwb Ifor Bach Cardiff on a bill for an Attack and Defend gig.
CV DJs are: Nick and Gavin. Although it is extremely rare, they have also been known to appear solo.
Embracing all elements of counter culture, CV DJs play a rush of warped music from a spectrum quite vast which would be ridiculous to list. Listeners have been known to detect MP3 based psychedelics from outer space being mixed into Hank Williams and even Hendrix sharing a cross fader with a CDR jam capable of hospitalising the ears.
Like CV in print, CV DJs are passionate aficionados who play only music which would entertain themselves.
CV DJs use: CDRs/RW, The Algoriddim ‘dj’ Ipad application and other portable MP3 devices.
CV DJs believe that a DJ is only as good as the next track he lines up for the room and not how much vinyl he/she owns, equipment, groupies, requests or reputations. Please do not be alarmed when/if CV DJs arrive at your event with no visible equipment. It is commonly stored in their jackets and a tracklisting will usually be jotted down on some paper in a trouser pocket.
In 2009/2010 CV DJs published a comic dedicated to their turntable ethos.
